Des Rhule

A true running veteran, Des has competed at local, national and international levels. He participated in his first ultramarathon in 2005 and has progressed on to tackling the notorious Ultra-Trail Du Mont Blanc (UTMB) on more than one occasion. Over a decade since his first ultra he is still going and recently completed 100km Race To The Stones, 50km Dover Endurancelife, 56km UTMB OCC as well as many other trail marathons in between. While he considers the 2012 UTMB to be a highlight he is very much looking forward to taking part again in 2020 and will spend 2019 collecting the qualifying points required.

Incredibly Des beat the odds by completeing The Fellsman 100km trail race the day after his 50th birthday party, despite also suffering from the flu. Given the circumstances he had simply intended to make it to the first check point but he managed to push on and finish the whole race.

For all his own achievements, Des loves to help others reach their goals and ambitions, no matter what scale they’re on. In his spare time, he is a race performance trainer for King’s College London, and has helped countless people achieve their targets, making him a fantastic contact for any running advice you might need. He also gives up his time to be a XCountry Race Marshall and Course Marker for the London Universities Cross Country Championships every November.

One of his favourite places is Courmayeur, its the start of the UTMB CCC and the Tor De Geants and it has a fantastic ski resort.
