We are delighted to support The Wilderness Lectures once again this Autumn / Winter - a series of audio/visual presentations in Bristol whose theme is worldwide adventure, travel and exploration. The popular lecture series all feature widely travelled explorers, mountaineers and well–known adventurers.

Wilderness Lectures was established in 1987 by mountaineers Steve Berry and Steve Marriott who wanted to bring to Bristol some top outdoor activity lectures; they were subsequently joined by cavers Dick Willis and John Bracey. 30 years later Wilderness offers a core programme talks during its annual winter series.

In those 30 years, Wilderness has hosted speakers who are world famous, such as mountaineers Sir Chris Bonington and Doug Scott, as well as those who are almost unknown outside their own narrow field; the range of activities featured has covered everything from high altitude mountaineering to swimming the length of the world’s great rivers to cycling round the world on a penny-farthing bicycle.

Dick Willis said, “Wilderness Lectures offers a programme of entertaining, inspiring talks to our audience of active and armchair adventurers of all ages. Our partnership with Ellis Brigham is a natural fit and we look forward to working together to promote adventure of all types”.
