NICKY SPINKS - RUN FOREVER

Nicky Spinks is an inspirational UK ultra-distance runner who was recently awarded the British Empire Medal in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List. In 2016, ten years after overcoming breast cancer, Nicky hit the national headlines when she became the fastest person to run a ‘Double Bob Graham Round’ (132 miles including 54,000ft of ascent over 84 fell peaks in the Lake District, England), setting a new record time of 45 hours 30 minutes. The film of her story (Run Forever) has been viewed more than 170,000 times on YouTube.

This year (2018), the 51-year-old inov-8 ambassador made history once again by becoming the first person ever to run a ‘Double Ramsay Round’ (116 miles including 57,000ft of ascent over 48 rocky Scottish mountains) in a time of 55 hours 56 minutes. She followed this up by finishing first woman, and seventh overall, at the Ultra Tour Monte Rosa – a 105-mile race through the Italian Alps that includes 37,000ft of ascent. Nicky, who has also twice completed the UTMB (Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc), clocked a time of 37 hours 11 minutes for one of her biggest victories to date.

Through these challenges – and many others – Nicky has raised more than £17,000 for ‘Odyssey’, a charity which is close to her heart. Further donations can be made here. As well as being a farmer, Yorkshire-based Nicky is also a running coach for both juniors and adults. Check out her website.

Join Nicky Ellis Brigham Covent Garden for a rare opportunity to hear her share her running experiences.

Thanks to Inov-8’s support we’re pleased to be able to donate 80% of the ticket sales from the evening to Nicky’s chosen charity – Odyssey.
