Alex Staniforth

Outdoor challenges have been the answer for Alex to overcome his personal challenges. Now he is an endurance adventurer passionate about empowering others to put their own ‘minds over mountains’.

At just 22 years old Alex has been on four expeditions to the Himalayas, including two attempts to climb to the summit of Mount Everest and reaching 7,125 metres on Cho Oyu in Tibet.

In 2017 he became the fastest person ever to climb all 100 UK county tops, walking, cycling, running and kayaking over 5,000 miles in 72 days. Back home he is an avid runner of roads, fells and trails, with his first marathon and more ‘spontaneous’ endurance cycling challenges to follow in 2018. Watch this space!

He is also an ambassador for YHA England & Wales and ViewRanger, to promote the benefits of outdoor challenges for our mental and physical health.
