Sexy Sophistication. 60s Psychedelia. Metro Mountain.
Snowsports clothing for winter 08/09 sees evolution rather than revolution in terms of colour and fit. Reflecting the monochrome trend in interior design, black and white still play a key role in the new season's palate bringing with them either catwalk sophistication or a 60's Pop Art look.
Conversely, colour is very much part of the new collections with pastels and washed-out tones pretty much gone. Colour is bright and very saturated with designers having a particular love affair with purple. The edgier ski and snowboard brands bring a very graphic CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) colour explosion to the party that celebrates a 60/70's psychedelic mood.
Tailoring fabrics still have an influence with houndstooth checks and pinstripes still popular bringing the slopes to the high streets with a versatile mountain metropolitan look. Luxury goods trims feature across the board bringing precious metal decadence particularly to the monochrome styles.
Fits have become more tailored where jackets are a little longer but with a more fitted silhouette. Pants are still relaxed but not over baggy. Overall, garments are cut to flatter, making you look and feel absolutely fabulous!
