The new ski season means so many exciting possibilities and we¹ve got the equipment to help you make them reality!

Designers working with shape, camber and flex, are producing skis that perform better and are more fun to ski than ever before! Skis are more versatile and even easier to use from all-mountain all-rounders like the Movement Jam to super-accessible fat skis such as Volkl¹s Gotama. We¹re also introducing Moment Skis to the UK, one of the most forward thinking and talked about ski companies in the U.S.A. But our range isn¹t just about wider skis, it¹s about offering the best at every level, from beginner to expert, male and female, piste, all-mountain, freeride and freestyle. There¹s something for everyone.

Boots too have improved from last season, with Salomon introducing the Custom Shell programme into the best selling Impact range, and Atomic adding innovative liners. Fischer and Lange have new models, Nordica and Head have upgraded current favourites. And Full TiltŠ well, have a look...

Obviously great boots are no good without a great fit and that¹s why we ensure our boot-fitters are amongst the best in the country: passionate, dedicated and knowledgeable, they will pick exactly the right product to improve your skiing comfort and performance.

The pound may have plummeted against other currencies but we¹ve worked hard with all our suppliers to ensure that the UK is still the place to buy equipment. At Ellis Brigham we have some of the most competitive ski and boot prices in Europe (check it for yourself just don¹t tell the resort shops!), a comprehensive staff training programme and we¹re always here for advice, service and after-sales.

Now really is the time to buy ski equipment design advances mean that product is better than ever before and the UK will be one of the cheapest places to buy in Europe. So come into one of our stores, chat to the friendly staff, browse the impressive selections and grab yourself some new kit! We¹re looking forward to seeing you.

2006 SKI TESTS

Ski testing is, without a doubt, our favourite time of the year. We get to try all the latest equipment in some amazing locations, with great people. To collect this seasons’ range we started back in January. This involved trips to France, Switzerland, and Canada, though the biggest and most eagerly anticipated are the ones in Italy and Austria.

Snowsports Industries of GB Ski Test, Pila, Italy. March 2006
100’s of skis, 13 different brands – all lined up for retailers and press to demo. We took a team of experienced testers, consisting of ex-racers, instructors, freestylers and freeriders, male and female. The brief was an obvious one: select the very best skis in every category.
Conditions were perfect and we got to try the skis in all the environments that suited them best. Piste skis were cranked-over on perfect groomed snow, all-mountain skis were pushed everywhere, freeride skis ran laps through deep, fresh powder, and twin tips stalled walls, popped off kickers and launched over cowsheds!
The results were excellent and left us in no doubt what to stock.

Ellis Brigham Staff Ski Test, Stubai Glacier, Austria. June 2006
With staff from all over the country, we pulled together a group of nearly 40 testers to fine-tune the range and prepare for the next season. Once again, we were blessed with the weather and arrived on the glacier to 3 foot of cold, deep powder. What followed were 5 days of perfect testing conditions: no lift queues, empty corduroy pistes, gorgeous blue skies, first lines on fresh snow, and, of course, Jagermeister. By the end of the trip, we had a lot of happy skiers (with first-hand knowledge of the skis in our racks) and complete satisfaction in the range.

SIGB Test March 2005, Pila, Italy
This year we took our most experienced team ever with a mix of sexes, instructors, freestylers and ex-racers to the Italian resort of Pila. They may not have seen much snow fall in the weeks prior to the trip but the pistes were perfect for testing, and with over 15 brands represented it was an extremely busy week. After Pila the testing begins to change focus, and switches from the initial selection to training and fine-tuning. And, as with last year, we visited the Stubai glacier in Austria to do just that.

Ellis Brigham Staff Glacier Test June 2005, Stubai, Austria
We had nearly 30 testers and almost 100 pairs of skis with us for 5 days skiing at the beautiful glacier resort of Stubai. The week is centred on training, with lots of specialist advice and staff present, including talks from Industry experts every evening, and by the end of the time there everyone knows the new range and has experienced it on snow.
