Compared to traditional wool, the Merino fibre is a fraction of the diameter which is one of the reasons why Icebreaker doesn’t itch. The large scales on traditional wool act like barbs against your skin. Merino feels like silk. Outstanding Warmth: Icebreaker is so warm because of the millions of tiny air pockets in the fabric, which trap air and lock in body heat. Temperature Regulation: Your Icebreaker can warm and cool your body by absorbing and releasing moisture. Breathable: With Icebreaker the fibres breathe as well as the fabric, keeping you dry and comfortable. Icebreaker pulls moisture away from your body. No Odour: The natural Anti-Microbial properties of Icebreaker mean an odour free undergarment. Good for you and for those around you! Warm When Wet: Damp or wet, it still insulates, restricting loss of body heat at vital times. Bio Electrical Harmony: In tune with your body's bioelectrical fields, so no static cling.

Icebreaker_GT is an ultra-technical sports system, designed to give you a competitive advantage in high performance outdoor activities. + new ranges of Icebreaker hats & gloves for winter.

A line of underwear for men & women is available at Ellis Brigham. Beast and Nature from Icebreaker are unlike any underwear that you have bought before - Nature is stylish underwear for women, whilst beast is designed for men who love the outdoors but live in urban areas, rugged enough to withstand the toughest work-out, yet are tailored to be a perfect fit beneath a city suit. Both Nature and Beast are made from sustainably-produced pure merino wool sourced from the Southern Alps of New Zealand – the best merino-growing region in the world. They're high performance and ecologically sound. Fine merino is a perfect fabric for underwear: it's lightweight, breathable, wicks away sweat and prevents chafing.

Ellis Brigham continue to be at the forefront of the Icebreaker evolution in the UK with the introduction of Icebreaker Touch Points for Winter 2008.  Stores with Touch Points will offer an unrivalled range of Icebreaker product: Castleford/Leeds, Milton Keynes, Tamworth, Covent Garden, Westfield & Castlefield (Manchester) .

Ellis Brigham are also one of the first to unveil the baacode on each Icebreaker product - an interactive system for tracing your Icebreaker clothing back to its mountain side routes in New Zealand. Customers are invited to trace Icebreaker’s sustainable and ethical practices, beginning at the farm and extending throughout the entire supply chain. View the living conditions of the sheep, meet the high country farmers who run the sheep stations, and follow through the production process that turns premium merino fibre into Icebreaker’s cool, athletic garments. Icebreaker takes responsibility for the entire life-cycle of its garments. Icebreaker sources its merino fibre directly from high country New Zealand farmers, all of whom must comply with stringent guidelines on animal health and welfare, long-term respect for the environment, and fibre quality. “For Icebreaker, it’s not just about where it’s made – it’s about how it’s made,” says Jeremy Moon CEO of Icebreaker . From August 2008, Icebreaker garments will have an internal label bearing a unique baacode number. A swingtag will tell customers how to enter their individual baacode on the Icebreaker website and trace the merino fibre in their garment through to the sheep stations where it was grown. Customers will see the living conditions of the sheep, meet the high country farmers who run the sheep stations, and follow the production process that turns premium merino fibre into Icebreaker’s exceptional, performance-driven garments. “For us, sustainability is about transparency and being able to show the whole design for the business, which starts with the growers and continues through every step of the supply chain,” says Moon. “We made the decision to put this information online to give consumers a clear understanding of Icebreaker, and of our deep and ongoing commitment to the environment and to social ethics.”
